according to the echl website the clones were fined.....anybody know why?

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

ZINGER!!!!!

The only thing I can think and thought maybe it was a urban legend but playing the "3 blind mice song".???? lol but that been going on for the last few games.

Cincinnati Organization Fined
January 11, 2007

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced on Thursday announced that it has fined the Cincinnati Cyclones organization an undisclosed amount for a violation of Article 8, Section 8 of ECHL Regulations.

I cant find ARticle 8 section 8 anywhere... :(

Are you sure we didn't get fined for impersonating an ECHL hockey team
on Wednesday night!Maybe we were due for a butt-kicking,but that was the
worst effort I've seen all year.Lets hope they got that out of their system
and get back to playing as a team Friday night.

I wonder if it was Jr's fault... from the comment he made over the PA (Dec 23rd) about how great Franc was doing on ice only allowing 6 goals (so far). Then Mitts "echoed" the comment. Mitts wasn't present at the game Weds night! (At least I didn't see him!) I bet that's the reason for the fine.

Highly doubt it has to do anything with the fans or what he/she said.

I don't know if it's credible but someone on Into The Boards said the Section 8 or whatever has to do with stick fouls. I know Cedrick broke his stick last night after giving up a goal, and Rawlyk did it the other week going crazy in the penalty box. Just a thought.

i'm thinking it was jr's comment or possibly a salary cap issue. it seems that most organizations get fined for salary cap violations. i emailed the echl about where the regulations can be found. i ll let everyone know if i hear anything.

section 8 of the rule book is about stick infractions, but if the fine was accessed for a stick infraction of some sort, the player would be fined, not the organization.

That is section eight of the actual PLAY rule book --- there is no "article" eight though, and it was assessed under "Article Eight, Section Eight" so it's something separate.

The team wouldn't be fined for a specific player breaking their stick if that was in fact it, the player would be.

Has to be something else.

The only thing I could come up with that seems odd, is the use of alcohol during the intermission activities. The beer chugging seems out of place in todays wimp-society. I wonder if it has to do with that.
Or perhaps under-reporting attendance which makes the league look bad (haha)

I figure the section 8 must be in the super-secret owners regulations.

the echl says the regulations are internal documents that are not made public.

i then asked why they even list what section and article the team was fined, if they aren't going to even generally inform the public as to what they refer to.

i don't think it would have anything to do with beer chugging. they've done some beer chugging 5 or 6 times and this is the first mention of a fine. if the beer chugging were the issue the team would have been fined several times by now.

dannielle clarified what i was getting at earlier. this has nothing to do with the posted rule book. when fines are accessed under the terms listed in the rule book, the fines are accessed to the player not the organization. also, when fines are accessed due to rule violations, the rule that was violated is listed in the press release.

maybe it has something to do with not padding our attendance numbers.

How about this (from ECHL FAQ):

ECHL teams will wear their white jerseys from Oct. 20-Jan. 16 and their dark jerseys from Jan. 19-Apr. 8.

We wore our Red (Dark) jerseys on Jan 10th!! Should have been wearing the White jerseys.
