I attended my first game this year this past Saturday night. Kids schedules have not allowed me to attend any up until now. I was curious who is the PA Announcer? What happened to Wildman? Any help would be appreciated!
It is JD from 96 Rock after a "change in direction" decided this year.
"Change in direction" translation - 'We replaced the guy who no longer works in FM Radio with a guy who does work in FM Radio on the off chance that he'll mention dollar beer night for us on the airwaves'
"What daring! What outrageousness! What insolence! What arrogance!... I salute you. "

I have a friend who works at the arena and he told me Wildman was using his connections within the opposing teams to get tickets left at will call for each game this season until the US Bank Arena manager put a stop to it and made him buy tickets. I'm not totally sure how it all went down with him being let go but you would think as long as he was with the team they could atleast hook the guy up with a pair of season tickets.
Seems to me that this organization is having a terrible time with local media. Anyone know the reasons behind the total blackout by the Enquirer? No articles--no one paragraph summaries from the previous might's game--not even one of the teams mentioned in the upcoming games listing for local pro and college teams. Have e-mailed the sports editor a couple of times and can't even get an form e-mail back. I do enjoy reading about the high school JV girls volleyball games in Brown County though
Wildman also does a local drive time radio show that would eliminate the possibility of him doing cyclones games anyway. Not saying the other stuff isnt true, but he took the job before the cyclones season started.
JD isnt all that good, but its his first year. Give him time and im sure he'll be fine. Before he got the gig he and others were always promoting the Cyclones on the radio anyway.
Also noticed sales rep changing like crazy. Things must be a brewin.
That most likely has to do with it being an entry level, low paying position more than anything else. I bought a 6 game ticket plan for the Columbus Blue Jackets for 5 years, and I would have atleast two different reps per year due to people finding better jobs and leaving. I have had a different rep each of the last three years with the Cyclones.
The PA announcer for the Queen City Steam is pretty good.
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

That is exactly it. Since the beginning of the season only one rep has left and it was because he found a new job that paid more.
There is always a lot of turnover in sports sales jobs.
Hearing JD vomit out "It's time for hockey" always makes me and my girlfriend laugh.
THIS ^
Would it be inappropriate for him to use "Lets play some hockey"? Obviously it wouldn't be the same but atleast there would be continuity from season to season. Its not like Chris Welsh saying "This one belongs to the Reds."
