What happened, anyone see it on AmericaOne? The Gwinnett facebook page even indicated that Skalde got a game misconduct? WOW!!!

Gwinett paper said it was Matt McDonald

"Cincinnati assistant coach Matt Macdonald was among those given a misconduct at the end. Gwinnett captain Andy Brandt and Sacha Guimond were penalized, as were Cincinnati's David Pacan and Garrett Wilson"

Did anyone else hear the broadcast at the end when it sounded like
one of our players (not sure-think Pacan) took a stick shot from one
of the Gwinnett players ? In Skalde's defense, sounds like the refs
did their usual "let-them-play" attitude and Gwinnett took advantage
of it. Gwinnett had to be frustrated at the end knowing only two home
games and about to let one slip away.

Coverage at the end of the game was not very good, so I didn't see anything specific. However, both teams stayed on the ice for quite a while after the game just pushing each other around. I listened to Brunker till the end of his broadcast and didn't hear him make any reference to specific incidents.

I thought the officiating was inconsistent during the game - a couple of delayed calls by the linesmen and a couple of head scratching penalties from the ref.

This is definitely playoff hockey though - much more physical than the last series.

If you watch the America One feed, you can see that after the last face off, #4 from Gwinette gave one of our guys (you can't tell who) a 2 handed slash. It was on the bottom left of the screen. It will be interesting to see the fines/suspensions that come out of that scrum.

If you look at the game sheet #4 for Gwinnett did get a 5 minute major and a misconduct for the slash. He should definitely end up with a suspension for that. Other than that it's hard to say.

Did McDonald actually go on the ice or did he just say something to a ref?

Yes, I grew up playing hockey... In Alabama.

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL on Saturday announced the following fines from ECHL Playoff Game #J-1, Gwinnett at Cincinnati, on April 19.

Cincinnati’s David Pacan and assistant coach Matt Macdonald and Gwinnett’s Andy Brandt have each been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of their actions following the game, and Gwinnett’s Sacha Guimond has been fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his major penalty and game misconduct for slashing at 20:00 of the third period.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.

I happen to think this is a good idea, Aubin apparently got away with a two handed swing against coatzee last series but what is different here from the swing in Toledo is Aubin didn't draw a penalty in Toledo where as this Guimond from Gwinnett did. instead of suspensions it is better for both teams to get fined and play on without losing important players....folks may disagree
