CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Chris Reed for the 2013-14 season.
Reed, a 25-year-old Solon, Ohio native, will return for his third season as a professional this fall. A year ago, he notched a career-high 18 points (1g-17a) in 59 games with the Cyclones. In addition, he finished fourth among all ECHL players (and second among defensemen) in the plus/minus category by posting a +26 rating. During the Kelly Cup Playoffs, the former Ohio State Buckeye contributed with five assists in 17 contests. Reed also spent some time in the American Hockey League during the 2012-13 campaign; he collectively logged eight games with the Springfield Falcons, Houston Aeros, and Lake Erie Monsters. |

Huge re-signing in him, however I dont see him staying too long. Im sure he will be called up left and right if he stays healthy again. Im actually surprised that he didnt get an AHL deal this off-season. |

Agreed on all your points.
It's nice he re-signed after Skalde left as it shows that Matt MacDonald has the confidence of a player the caliber of Reed.
He moves the puck through the zones as well as any defenseman that the ECHL Cyclones have ever had from my point of view. He's very responsible defensively as well.

Chances are he was signed prior to Skalde leaving. Announcements of signings are not always done right when they happen. |

Nice pick up, although I agree that he will see considerable AHL action this year too... |
