The former ECHL Cyclones great is now on pace for a meager 8.2 points this season.
Desharnais' lack of production has seen him become scapegoat number one in the eyes of most fans and media, even getting ripped recently on RDS.
The Canadiens have let it be known to other NHL teams that Desharnais is available. They're not asking for much in return. |

Another scoreless night for the diminutive center. Now on pace for 6.8 points this season.

Yes, Mrs. Hubbard would be proud that I am applying what I learned in the classroom to real world applications. |

Yes, more than I and so many people in the pro hockey firmament thought.
But if he doesn't start playing better, he'll prove a lot of people were right when they said his time in the NHL wouldn't be long.
He's not just off to a slow start. His poor play is a carry-over from last season.
BTW ... scoreless again tonight.

Okay you made your point that he is not having a good start. Why do you have to keep posting just to piss Cyclone fans off ? Maybe you should grow up like you seem to think some of us (me included)need to. |

Only those that can't handle the truth would get ticked off, Bags. He's played poorly since the start of last season. It is what it is. |

So it seems everyone of your sacred Ducks is heading to the Hall of Fame ? The fact DD is still pulling consistant shifts leads me to believe (just my opinion) the team still has faith in him. Even if he is sent back to the AHL to work out something, the fact is he still made it to the show. I will give you on Cedrick that he has not earn NHL level status yet. Maybe down the road that will come. Here a stat for DD: +/- currently is -1. For all the shifts he has been on the ice, the team is only down one point. If it was -5 or larger you could point fingers. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/mon/stats/

Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry are both tracking towards being in the Hall of Fame.
Chris Kunitz, Joffrey Lupul and Pierre Parenteau are off to good starts and important players for their teams.
Zenon Konopka is one of the of the best faceoff guys in the NHL and now a bonafide NHLer.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere continues to play well for the Colorado Avalanche.
Matt Cullen is now in his 14th NHL season and has had a really solid NHL career.
Dustin Penner has won two Stanley Cups and is back with Anaheim.
After playing a few years in the NHL, Tim Brent is now making $1.2 million to play in Russia.
Sheldon Brookbank won a Stanley Cup last season with Chicago and is an important role player for the team.
We're in the ninth season now since the Ducks were last in town, but as you can see, several of the players that played here are still doing quite well. |

Just about every NHL team would take Konopka over Desharnais because of his ability to win faceoffs, fight, win battles for loose pucks and as an energy guy.
In typical fan-like-fashion, you assume a player's value is in how many points they have when you compare them to other players.
The three stars of the game selections are always laughable at US Bank Arena (and most minor pro cities) because it's always who scored goals or recorded a shutout. The best player on the ice may not have registered a point but because they didn't, they're never one of the three stars.

Isn't that EXACTLY what you're doing with David? I mean, you started this whole thing by providing us with David's point totals from virtually every game this season, I can only assume it is in some half-cocked attempt to prove your prediction right, that David either shouldn't or doesn't belong in the NHL. Only time will tell, but he still gets minutes despite his lack of points, are you not basing David's value on how many points he aquires? in typical fan-like-fashion? That is what you are accusing bags of right? |
