I'm a little bit surprised by Luciani and Hazen. I thought they both had good chances to make AHL rosters.

Hazen I am surprised because he looked like he had an ok year last year staying up in San Antonio, Luciani is probably going to be here because he was injured last year alot and probably needs to impress again, which he will and will probably not be here come March.

The good - The addition of AHL talent is never a bad thing. These guys should produce offensive numbers.

The bad - bloating the roster with AHL guys from affiliates is only good if those affiliates can stay healthy. If the higher ups get riddled with injuries we'll be left in a bad spot. Keep in mind that training camp will be a little different than in past with the silly trip to Alaska. The 'Clones probably won't be traveling with a full training camp roster. If they take the affiliate players, they get extra time to learn the new systems but that takes time away from assessing potential free agent players. If they take the free agent guys it takes time from coaching up the other guys.
