San Antonio dealt Philippe Cornet to Charlotte in return for Adam Brace. Brace will report to Cincinnati. http://www.sarampage.com/team/news/index.html?article_id=2476
It's hard to say how the deal will affect the 'Clones on the ice. Cornet was an established AHL guy whereas Brace is essentially a rookie so in theory it's a step back, but Braces stats have been respectable. A little size was lost in the deal. At least the trade wasn't a "furures" deal leaving the 'Clones with a hole in the line up. |

Indeed, this is the incredible shrinking team. There isn't much size at all. That makes it tough to win battles in the corners and in front of the net. And, to this point, I'm not seeing a good playmaking, finesse team to compensate. |

Really liked Comet for the two games he played with us at USBA. He had a physical game and scored goals in both first rounds of the shootouts in those games with the same nice quick wrist shot high to the glove side. Coach must have seen something to put him out first. Its not like FL or SA is stalked with talent so they must see something in Braces. Lets hope it pays off here |

Really? Kyle Rau, Alexsander Barkov, Logan Shaw, Nick Bjugstad, Michael Matheson, Jonathan Huberdeau, Erik Gudbranson, Dmitri Kulikov, Rocco Grimaldi and Jacob Marksrom are young players every NHL organization would love to have.
The Panthers have a lot of young talent in the pipeline. Some of it such as Barkov, Bjugstad, Huberdeau, Gudbranson have already arrived in Florida. |

Florida is 15th in a 16 team Conference and SA is 12th out of 15 in their conference. Look forward though to watching each team in the Stanley Cup or Calder Cup finals. Thanks for the tip. |

With so many young players the Panthers weren't expected to contend for the Stanley Cup or even a playoff spot this year. In 2-3 years they're going to be pretty good if they keep doing what they're doing by building through the draft and being patient with their young players.
You can't measure success in the AHL by wins and losses. It's about player development. If the young players are getting better as the season goes along, and a couple players are ready to step in and play regularly in the NHL next season, then it's been a successful season.
