Thanks SCUBA for saying what I bet a lot of us are thinking. As for some of the
Dayton fans( like you SS), why would you be worried about a CINCINNATI CYCLONES
website when our season is over and yours is still playing? Is there any Cyclone
fans that feel they must post messages on an opposing team's website? For a team
with ZERO returning players and coaches, our first year team shocked everyone on
how far they got in the season. As for you Dayton, I'm not rooting for you or
against you in the playoffs because OUR hockey is done for the season.

I guess I am the exception. I seriously thought about going to see today's Dayton game but we seem to be passing some illness back and forth at my house. I enjoy hockey regardless of who is playing and if my team is out I generally cheer for the closest team still in the battle. As an added bonus it would be great if Dayton could manage to win it all and we could talk about how the Cyclones took the champs out to 7 games before losing.

I think part of the problem here is the way the Cyclones bowed out. If it had been a tight series going 1-1, 2-2, and 3-3 then I wouldn't have minded so bad being beat in 7 games. I think we are all still irritated at what can only be described as a total collapse of the Cyclones when we appeared to have the series victory in hand. I am far from happy about that loss but that is the way it sometimes goes in sports.

I will cheer for Dayton through these playoffs. When next fall rolls around Dayton will again become the bums in my eyes and then we can get our revenge.

Get Clones instead of Clunkers.

Hey Dayton, maybe you should worry more about your playing conditions than
trying to coax our dollars up to your arena !!

The tailgate party was paid for by the fans, not the Bombers and certainly not the Nutter Center. Not trying to coax anything from anybody. By the way, the ice was great tonight. The Bombers won 3-1 and the series is now tied 2-2. Next game is Tuesday if you want to come up and join us.

To All Cyclone Hockey Fans:
We're still enjoying hockey up here and the series is now tied 2-2. Tuesday night should be a great game. Come on up if you have a chance and root for the Northern Division to pull ahead.
Don't know why Florida whined so much about the soft ice - they won on it. And that news article you linked to was a NAPLES, FLA paper, thus the bias and whining. It hurt our team more than theirs.

they complained because the game is called ICE hockey not SLUSH hockey.

There was no slush anywhere. Just problems around the boards. They fixed it, they played, Florida won. Maybe that blonde biotch got payed by the word in her story. Who knows. They should have also added that no kids got pushed and hurt at the game.

Cincinnatifan thanks for your post. As the originator of this topic I guess I thought there were more hockey fans in Cincinnati than just Cyclone fans. I am a Dayton fan first but if there is hockey going on wherever I am at, I am going to the rink whether its high school, college or some level of professional hockey. And yes I would have been in Cinti with my Bombers jersey on rooting for the Clones just because your rivals doesnt mean you dont respect them.

Go Bombers!!! And more hockey fans!!!

My son and I were at the Bomber's game last night. A couple of observations:
1) Intellectually I supported the Bombers as a regional team.
2) Emotionally, it was hard to get real excited, tho I am glad the Bomber's won.
3) Dayton's power play still sucks.
4) Can you say Nutter Empty Center? I know it was Mother's Day and all, but jeez...
5) It was actually reasonably chilly in there ( I guess to keep down the slush factor?)
6) I can't wait to renew the rivalry in October. Go Clones!
7) Hockey is life! but it's still just a game.

Hakee,

1) Thanks for the support, regional or otherwise.
2) I can understand the lack of excitement. Its hard to pull for another team.
3) Yes, yes it does.
4) I don't think we've had over 2,000 on a Sunday all season. If I were a Clones fan, I would have called it "The Emptier Center".
5) 3 events in 24 hours from Fri. to Sat. I expected the ice to be iffy for Sundays game, but it was fine.
6) Me too. Go Bombers!
7) Yes! Unfortunately.

On a side note, the wife and I had actually planned to attend some Clones games, if they had won the series. I'll normally root for the team that puts my team out.

bags,
Coax? Quit being a homer dude. All we are doing is letting you know that you would be welcomed at our home games. If you want to attend, good for you. If not, don't attend. You can sit at home and sulk over the off season. If Cincy had won the series I would be at some of their games for the shear love of hockey, regardless of the teams playing. It's close to home, so why not enjoy it?

Hey R L, if posting on my OWN TEAM'S SITE makes me a Homer, that's fine. You
are still playing and we are at home,so you can be happy about that. As for coming
up to the game, it's kind of hard to justify a 3 hour roundtrip to see two teams
that have nothing to do with me. The article on your ice came straight from the
ECHL site, and I knew it would tweak SS. Maybe that was wrong, but too bad,you had
your fun and I'm just having my fun.

Bags and R_L, two minutes each for roughing.
SCUBA, five for fighting.
See a few of you at Game 5. Should be more at the NUT HOUSE than on Sunday.

Couple of things, first of all SilverSurfer, I am enjoying Summer so far! The pools almost ready, the grill is firing on all burners, And not once, not one time have I thought....gee I wish the Clones were playing still. Apparently the Clones just didn't want it bad enough, I had no control over that, so i'm not losing sleep, yes i'm having a great summer so far! Secondly Jericho, where in the world did you get that definition of Sportsmanship? the Little league rule book? Graceful losing? second place is only the first loser. There is no losing in hockey! look you all might be great people outside of the arena, It might have been meant in good sportsmanship but I felt it was both egotistical to think that we would actually want to cheer for the bombers and a little "here pour some salt in your wounds that we beat you" "I have a better idea, actually wear your Cyclones jersey and cheer for the bombers"......Yea right

xfmrmike, just because I want either the Everblades or the National Conference champs to hand your Collective butts to you doesn't mean I don't respect the Bombers, Just the opposite, we had you down 3 games to 1 and you scratched your way back...."good Form"

... QUICK ASIDE FOR THE RECORD... I don't give a crap who you cheer for in this series. You could cheer for the refs for all I care. That was not the point.
... END ASIDE ...

Wow - it's funny how the Toledo, Wheeling and Johnstown fans who I talked to about whether or not they wanted to go wern't jerks about it. They all assumed it was because I knew they were hockey fans and I figured that due to the fact that they were hockey fans... they may want to go to a hockey game.

Most of the time when I invite someone to a party people say yes if they want to go and no if they don't go. I think it speaks volumes about you as a person if you, whom we assume would be someone who would enjoy hockey, get invited to a party before a hockey game and then question the motives of the people who invited you.

I have met some people in Cincinnati over the last year who I like as people and enjoy spending time with. Some of those people check these boards. The messages left here by me were for those people and people who enjoy hockey. Apparently you can't enjoy a game for the sake of a game and instead feel the need to cry, moan and say that I was trying to taunt or mock you.

No wonder the Ducks fans can't stand some of you.
