Aside from the camera issue, we were not allowed to bring in factory sealed water bottles last weekend? WTF is that?! We have ALWAYS been allowed at USBA, even at the Red's games we are allowed. That one pissed me off. I'm sorry, but $3.50 for a bottle of water is too much for me.

This is part of the problem with rules not being enforced. I walked right into that concert with a camera knowing that they weren't allowed, but nobody said anything and during the concert you could see cameras flashing all over the arena. Some people they stop and some they don't.

As for water and other drinks/food being brought into games, I bring two bottles of water or soda from home and put one in each of my front pants pockets and walk right in with them. With my jersey being kinda baggy nobody can tell there's anything in my pockets. I've learned many tricks for sneaking things in over the years. Just a suggestion for you for the next game.

Yeah, there were flashes all over at the Justin Timberlake concert too... and I know they weren't professional. Just girls who snuck them in. They were taking away cameras though if they saw you with one out. It was tricky, but I got a few :) That's what happens when the rules are that ridiculous... people sneak around. It just makes more work for both parties in the end. The fans sneaking in a camera and sneaking around to take photos, and the security having to keep their eyes peeled waiting for the flashes. They were even taking away your phone if they saw you taking photos on it. I mean, lets get real. What kind of phones really take good photos at concerts? And something that you're actually gonna make a few bucks off? Not gonna happen.

I'm definately gonna be sneaking in water. You're allowed to bring water into Red's games and concerts as long as they are factory sealed. I'm not all for being a rebel and breaking all the rules you can, but like I said... I'm not gonna be paying $3.50 for a bottled water. They can get over that one. My pant pockets usually aren't big enough to stick waters in, but I will figure something out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not that upset with the policy about no cameras with detatchable lenses at, lets say the most popular event this year the Rolling Stones, or the Police, The thought here is someone could make money off of an event like that with pictures taken at the concert, but lets pick and choose our battles, no one is taking pictures of ECHL players and posting them on ebay, and even if they were the income would nearly be the cost of processing, one could make an argument at the IHL level or AHL level, however that very same camera that wasn't allowed at the Disney on ice event has been to a Disney on ice event at the Gund arena, and if the same cameras are not allowed at the Clones games, I actually had the same camera at a Wild/Columbus Blue jackets game. I don't have a problem with policies if there is a sound explination behind them. As of yet I haven't heard one yet

KRL, That is exactly the problem, many years ago, a good friend of mine who takes pictures professionaly with the zooms and tripods and everything else would go areound during the IHL days a get some great shots...for himself, one day he was told to stop...knowing that I asked last year and actually had camera in hand and was told that my Nikon D70 was permitted inside because it had th standard lense and not a telephoto lens...go figure

we shouldn't have to ask for press credentials or photo credentials at all. i can understand their somewhat ban on some camera types but the majority of us (or all of us) just want to take pictures. my son (krlphotos) did have press credentials for a few game last year and he is really good at taking photos but he just wanted to take some pictures (he wants to do this profesionally someday). the point is nowhere is it said (unless you have very good eyesight and read the back of the ticket) about what type of camera you can bring in.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Actually, I was told by a USBA staffmember that the camera policy was not on the back of our ticket to Disney on Ice, and it was on the internet....OH ,then she pointed to a taped up sign on the wall and said the policy is there as well,....Gee thanks. We bought the tickets from tickets master and really we wouldn't have had a problem if the ticket rep would have simply told us that we should have brought out film camera, which I might add has a greater zoom lens that is non-detatchable then the camera that was banned. It really doesn't matter anyway, next time they won't find it

I'm gonna agree with Jericho for once in my life. Savor it. I think the camera issue is old, yah it sucks but if you're not willing to try to do something about it then there's no point in whining about it. Try getting credentials and go from there. I take a ton of photos, and I don't do it for profit, so I know where you all are coming from, but I still don't think dragging this out on a message board is gonna do much (or anything) to solve the problem.

Hey..People take pics of me every night! I know last weekend the camera used was a really good one. Maybe not a pro one but hell, I sit next to security. They're up my ass all the time. They never said anything. Does it help to be a 13 yr old female? Why don't we all write Joe Stills, Game Operations manager. Here's his e-mail addy (jstills@usbankarena.com) Or maybe write Jo Jo. I don't know his e-mail but I'm sure someone knows where it is.

I did write Mr.Stills about the camera issue and even included a picture
of my camera to see if it will be okay-I'm still waiting for his return
answer ! Also waiting on an answer on why my friend and his wife were
harassed by the ushers and even some area fans on if they belonged in
our seats that I gave them for the opener! We sit 6 rows from ther top
in the enzone seats,so there was no reason any usher hassles should
happen there!
