conrad martin, john gleed, matt macdonald, and bryan schmidt all in the AHl..that put at 4 defensemen by my count. now i see that sean perkins was put on 3 day IR today.
let's hope we get someone back soon, or that perkins was out on IR earlier in the week and it just showed up today. if we weren't thin before we are now. |

| i remember something happening (i think in the 1st period @ trenton) hammer sayin' that sean had gone off with bob and i never did hear if he came back...just maybe a little info on why the team put him on IR... |

Have a trade idea.How about sending Billy Irish-Baker to Pennsacola for
one of their defensemen. The one I see is Preston Briggs. I am one who
likes Irish-Baker, but we need defense and he could probably get regular
shifts with them.

| Exactly. Let's not trade all our talent. Pcola may be despret, but as long as we're still winning games, we aren't. When injuries clear in the NHL/AHL we will get some guys back. Let's not destroy our team in the meantime :X |

| no point in trading BIB when he has shown the ability to be a 2 way player. sure we are currently short on defenseman, but we do had 2 forwards that are capable of taking care of their own end in BIB and scott reynolds. both spend lots of time in the PK, which is basically playing defense. so why trade guys when there is no need to do so. |

Okay you win,but how about commiting BIB to defense and leave him there.What
I saw Saturday was Starling just as much out of position as Irish-Baker, so
maybe we should put Howell and Irish-Baker together and make them into one
defensive line.Starling and Baker did not look good Friday or Saturday together
so lets keep them seperate.Speaking of "End-Of Game Penalty" Starling-will he
ever learn to stay out of the box at the end of the game? |

| Not gonna happen now that Howells left, but I can't argue that a newbie at D can play just as well as Starling. I might even be able to pull that off. As for his penalty problems, I wanted to beat him over the head a year ago... don't hold your breath that he will learn! :) |

| I cant believe Howells left to "pursue other opportunities" as Chuck put it.. they're really in a hole now but hopefully we can get some people sent back down to the team so they are not forced to make a trade or something big like that |

| Yeah well... Howells is another one that has a lot of growing up to do. I don't know where he thinks his hockey "career" is going to go from here, but whatev! :) |
