Why is it when we have another great crowd our team plays sloppy and we loose in overtime/shootout? We have a great team, that team was not on the ice tonight. Even though it was a good game. We needed the two points to get away from Elmira
Also..It says there were only 3783 at the game. I thought there were a lot more than that!

Second periods we seem to let up. Passes weren't clicking, no confidence. Do you think it was pressure from Reading or us just not playing well?
3783--I actually thought there were less than that there. 1st period and 2nd half of third period were a lot of fun to watch.
Any opinions on Urquehart??

In my opinion they weren't playing well their shots were off and they weren't going after the puck enough. and were not playing hard enough on power plays Keep it in the zone boys!! we will get'em tomorrow night |

The clones just looked FLAT all night. The POWER PLAY was freaking terrible tonight. Not the fact that they had trouble scoring on it, but the fact that they had trouble getting a shot on net during it.
It's hard to win games when your POWERPLAY goes 0 for 7!!!
Overall, they got lucky to get into the overtime tonight and force the shootout. You need every point you can get, especially when Dayton gets hammered by Elmira.
It's harder to get in the playoffs when you play in the American Conference the clones need to keep up their winning ways. Don't get me wrong, I think they have played great so far, but 4-3 shootout losses are not good when you have a decent crowd on hand. Hopefully it's not just because of the nascar night promotions but, I am willing to bet there will be a good number of people on hand tomorrow night as well...
These could be the highest attendance nights for the season- They need to give people a positive experience. Good game---because the 3rd period (last 5 mintues was exciting) bad game because of the SO loss and the sloppy play up until last 5.

We did not play up to par but I thought it was a great intense game. A lot of people around us left in the third period and it was awesome to see all the hard work finally pay off as we tied it up, Dietsch getting the third goal. The glove save by Cedrick on the breakaway was awesome as well and I think was a big momentum shift.
The shoot-out sucked. Cedrick did fine when the Reading players tried to make a move, the next three shots he let in were all regular shots to the same side.
The crowd was great but I agree with Hakeedude, for once the announced attendance was actually higher than I expected. I was thinking a little over 3000, was thrilled to see almost 3800. I guess it's just my prediction always being shot down that has made me think less. |

| One more thing ... NASCAR Nights always bring out the most idiotic and annoying fans and I get stuck by them EVERY year. Tonight I had a group behind me with a woman yelling the whole game about how is Starling would beat people up then he would "be a good player" and how the Cyclones sucked. My girlfriend had to convince me to keep my nerve. |

I wish Urkel would go back to the AHL, just so I wouldn't have to grit my teeth watching him like I did tonight.

Hahaha... be glad they were BEHIND YOU. During OT there were two young-ish male fans standing on the glass right in front of me... blocking a good 3/4 of the rink. I didn't have a change to have the OT jitters, I couldn't see what was going on to be nervous! |

i've said it before and i'll say it again...this team is the best skating team that i have seen in a long time. they aren't big and overly physical, but when they move their feet and finish their checks the create offensive space for themselves and take it away from the opposition. they games the 'clones have lost this year have been because they didn't skate. tonight, the boys moved their feet and took it to reading in the 1st. while the score was even at 0 and shot on goal close, the puck was in the reading end for most of the period. after the first the guys quite skating, got out worked, got beat to all loose pucks and this all added up to getting out shot 20 to 6; which lead to being on the losing side of the scoreboard. it wasn't until the last 10 minutes or so of the 3rd that the guys started skating hard again. when they did they got right back in it and managed to steal a point. it all comes down to they guys skating...they aren't going to physically intimidate anyone.
my guess on the crowd was about 3800...the lower bowl hold just under 7000, and it was easily half full. it is odd that whenever there is a big crowd, we end up on the losing side of the score sheet. i'm expecting a bigger crowd tomorrow and it would be great for the guys to win us another pulled pork sandwich and turn some of these "left turn" fans into hockey fans.
while i'm still not an urquhart fan, i've noticed a change to his play this year vs last year. he's definitely passing the puck more. his back checking still leaves a bit to be desired and he still takes shots from really bad angles, so i guess that's why he's here and not in hamilton. |

Keep in mind, folks, that playing with only 3 natural defensemen alters the rythm of the team's game. I thought Reynolds aquitted himself quite well back on D. Urquhart was horrible on the point of the power play. He was getting nothing on his shot and his handling of passes and passing was sorry. I heard that he's not 100% physically right now, so that (and having little or no experience playing the point of the pp) hopefully accounts for his pitiful performance. Also, Sixsmith and Deitsch haven't played much with these guys, and it takes time for the forwards to learn where the other guys will be/what their tendencies are, etc. Deitsch hangs really high in the offensive zone (usually between the slot and the tops of the circles) which no one else on the team really does, so it'll take his linemates a bit of time to get used to that.
Hell, with the defenseman shortage and after 8 straight wins they're allowed to throw in a clunker. Getting outshot 20-5 in the second period is something that probably hasn't happened to them all season. They did have a spirited comeback, though. It is unfortunate that their play wasn't up to par given the relatively large crowd. A fight or two would have been nice. Oh well. we'll get 'em Saturday. |

Ok, let me say 1 thing about the Cyclones.
Big Crowds=Bad Games
When we had the Stigners night I was pissed because when i saw all those people I knew the game wasn't ours. It just sucks to know that whenever we have awesome attendance, we can't win.
Oh well, hopefully tomorrow they can turn it up a notch and get the job done.
Another thing is that we need D and that has been brought up enough so i won't even put my 2 cents in on it. |

I didn't go to the game but knew it would be a struggle before it started. With the D down a few, I knew they would give up more than usual. I never woulda figured the O would struggle. There are times during games the Clones take a break. I have NEVER seen them play a whole 60 minutes. As far as the crowd factor goes, I think it helps the opposition a bit as well when there's a big one. Imagine coming out to play in front of 500 people. I bet they're like..oh man, this is boring. While the Clones are used to it. Put in a big crowd and it pumps up both teams. Sat's game will be much different.
And ELVIS.......write this down: We WILL win a Pulled Pork Samich or I will buy you one!! |

The fact that everyone is so riled up over just gaining ONE point just shows how well this team has done. |
