I remember him from the Duck days. He would sit down with Greg Waddell (PA announcer) and would play the music during play stops and intermissions. |
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Heh.
I actually knew about this before yesterday. There's a fine line between being an unnamed source and being a jackass, and I don't like being the guy who jumps that line. |

While the dogs are barking ay each other, let me at least offer congrats to Nick. Must be nice to work for your childhood hometown team. Press release lists lots of real experience (beyond being an intern with Ducks) and I am sure he will do a great job. |

John Hamer did a great job and I'm saddened by his leaving as he was always super-psyched up and super-positive as Nick Brunker will be. John, I worked in radio for 5 years out of college, so I know what it's like to lose your job for no reason at all-that's life in broadcasting. Think positive as I know you will and you'll land a good opportunity!!! bob george ps thanks also for being cool enough to respond to my emails (as Nick does too). |

Ficorelli, a veteran of 36 years of broadcasting, will be describing the action next season for the Evansville Icemen, the newest entrant in the International Hockey League.
This was a very difficult decision, I really agonized over it, said Ficorelli, who called more than 1,300 games for the Muskegon Fury and Lumberjacks. Ive always had a deep love affair with Muskegon, the city, the community and the fans.

Terry told me where he was going a couple weeks ago. He was in the running for an AHL job but was impressed with the ownership of the Evansville franchise.
Evansville will play in a small arena this year, 1,700 seats. Their new arena which will be ready in the fall of 2011 will have nearly 9,000 seats. It will be a good market for minor pro hockey. |

I am speechless. Anyone know of a more appropriate example of pure gaul? |

It's come to be expected. He really is in a class by himself.
And that is most fortunate for the rest of us.
Given that the Evansville franchise just came into being a few weeks ago and that the linked article talks about how Ficorelli "agonized" and that the Muskegon organization tried to keep him there, it's more than amazing that our resident omniscient seer knew what Ficorelli was going to do before Ficorelli knew himself.

Well this is sad to hear. I liked Hammer because he wasn't afraid to state his opinion and many times he pretty much said what the fans were thinking and he made the game excting- something that most broadcasters don't do anymore. He was a homer and I think that adds something to the broadcast. But what probably did him in was his nightly profanity-laced tirades during intermission reports, many times regarding his computer, the league office or referees. While it was actually quite entertaining to me to listen to him go on and on, I'm sure the Cyclones people didn't appreciate it. Good luck Hammer- and I hope we can get a good broadcaster in here. |

Joe, Terry Ficorelli spent all last week in Evansville finding a place to live.
The head coach/GM has Cincinnati ties.
