In addition to Nick's nice coverage, you can supplement it with great coverage in The Toledo Blade. They do a quality job covering the Walleye. For instance, two stories and a photo gallery for last night's game. Links are attached. If only the Enquirer would take heed.

They got the cover of the sports section on Saturday after game 1 as well. Nicely written not too biased and a picture as well.

If you go to the ECHL website, one of the featured stories is a recap of last night's 8 games. Each one is taken from a newspaper story on the game and the whole story can be linked to. Interesting stories.

Anxious to see what happens after Wednesday's game here as there are no Enquirer stories to link to. My guess is they will link to the Toledo paper's coverage. It is embarrassing. Of course I am not sure the other papers do such a good job of covering JV High School Volleyball as the Enquirer does.

Love the picture of Taylor Ellington eating popcorn. Great reaction to idiots throwing stuff on the ice.

The mascot better watch out about taunting Cyclone players. We've
been known to climb walls after them !

I too liked the picture of Taylor! That was very smart of him.

Hockey is life. All the rest is just small stuff.

Just a couple of questions regarding the coverage in the Toledo paper, do we know if these stories from the Toledo paper actually appeared in print? I'm not certain that it matters because it is far more then we have here in Cincinnati, The pieces are well written, and includes great quotes from the team. As for the coverage we have, There have been some here who imply that the reason the paper decides to remain silent about the Clones was because of the amount of interested readers, This might be true when high school football is in season, Ohio Has a great tradition with high school football however I would have to disagree at this juncture of the year. The Cincinnati paper is on a decline, is there anyone qualified to write stories for the paper about the Cyclones? and lastly I have to believe that somewhere someplace this has become personnal the lack of coverage. I cannot prove it,know zero details but for the life of me I cannot fathom why the Cyclones can win 2 championships within the last 10 years, increase the attendance figures, go up 2-0 in the first round of the playoffs, have a coach named coach of the year, and then still over the weekend get kicked aside by high school Track? there isn't a soul alive that could convince me that there are more readers interested in high school track than interested hockey fans. I would have to see some concrete stats to support that.

Could not agree more. Remember when we won the Kelly Cups and TV sports guys that you had never seen at a game were showing themselves on TV hoisting the cup? Yikes!

I can remember the sight of Ken Broo drinking out of the cup after we won it in 2008. Made we want to vomit!!!

SCUBA, from what I've seen in Toledo when I'm up there, The Blade does put a lot of stories in print. In fact, I think they have an assigned beat writer. Toledo embraces its minor league sports.

Actually, there is an article today on the Enquirer site that's worth a read.

BBB1959, I've seen Broo at the Cyclone games a lot in the past years shooting his own footage. So, I'd cut him a break. But I'm with you on the rest of the bandwagon-jumping lot!

Toledo is just a completely different market which is why they have a beat writer. You really can't try and compare the coverage in the local papers.

I would expect to see most of the local news stations and the Enquirer to have someone at all the playoff games.
