Don't bury your head in the sand as far as the attendance issue.
I want to keep the clones around as long as possible.
It's a short drive to watch an ECHL game and it keeps the Bombers travel expenses down.
Out of the 576 there last night, how many actually paid for their tickets?
200-300? How much of the teams' expenses did that actually cover?
The proximity of the 2 teams could make this a fun rivalry. You know a couple of us have already tried to stir the pot a bit at the games. Can't wait for PBR night and 500 fans again. Wheeljack's voice carries very well, eh? |

My guess is the paid attendance was closer to 500 then your
200 to 300 figure because as usual,our promotions go on dead
air so what you saw is most of our season ticket holders.I wish
we could get Indianapolis back in the ECHL because that would be
a close drive for us and Dayton. Just remember about our fan base,
this spring we didn't even have a team yet,so this is kind of a lost
year. If the attendance doesn't pick up next year,we will be praying
for our team life.Long live the Cyclones and the Bombers. |

Indy has never been in the ECHL.
Indy was an IHL team until the Komets left, then they became a CHL team.
If Indianapolis EVER gets a pro team back they will learn from their mistake and go to whatever league Fort Wayne is in at the time...
(CINCI FANS WHO ARE TOUCHY ABOUT ATTENDANCE READ NO FURTHER)
Why in the world would anyone in the geographic location that Indy is in want to join the ECHL?
Lets see who we have here...
Fort Wayne, IN... UHL - your teams most bitter rival for years... at one point 10 - 20% of your attendance when you played this team was made up of the visiting teams fans. Total travel time to your home ice in either direction 1 hour 30 min down I-69... Oh yah - and they average over 8 THOUSAND in attendance... that's paid, not padded my friends.
Bloomington, IL - UHL - first year team averaging 3,500
Chicago, IL - UHL - first year team averaging 3,700
Kalamazoo, MI - UHL - historic rival averaging 3,000
Compare that with Cinci Dayton and Toledo, not a winner there at all.
I also haven't included all teams in the league except 1 being within 6 hours driving distance... certainly better than flying your team out to cali in the expense department. |

I lived in Fort Wayne for 24 years. If you drive 5 under the speed limit you could get to the fairgrounds in an hour and a half. |

Sorry Jericho,you were finally right on something.Unlike you, I don't need to copy
your entire post just to say that Indianapolis was in the IHL with us,but they would
be a great fit for Cincinnati and Dayton when it comes to travel for both the team
and the fans.I wasn't a big fan of joining the Western Hockey league because the UHL
would have been a better fit with their Eastern half teams. |

| I used to make a lot of trips to Indianaplis when the Ice played in the IHL at the Pepsi Coliseum. The Ice fans always loved having us Cyclones fans make the trip so oftenly. |

First of all, our team name is CYCLONES....not clones.
My husband and I were at the game in Dayton on Saturday. The announced attendance was 4000. There were no more than 2000 there, and that is being generous.
Silver Surfer......you are on our boards trying to start trouble. We don't need your rudeness. I have read your posts and I just can't stay quiet any longer. You sound just like Cyclone bashers on another board. |

Actually the ann unced attendance was 4179, but thanks for playing. I didn't knw yu guys were that sensitive abut certain things. But I certainly understand hw yu feel with all the rumrs ging arund about the Greensbr thing.
I'm sure the CYCLNES attendance will get better as the seasn prgresses. There are a cuple of interesting promtins cming up that might spike sme interest in Cincinnati. |
